SEB finances Repsense's next stage of growth with €1M in venture debt

SEB has provided €1M in venture debt financing to Repsense. It is SEB's first deal of this kind in Lithuania and the first venture debt financing in the country provided by a local bank.

"With this deal we are opening a new financing option for innovative, fast-growing companies in the Lithuanian market. By combining an understanding of local business needs with the international expertise of the SEB Group, we can now offer solutions that match the growth stage of companies for which standard bank financing is not yet available. Venture debt gives more flexibility in combining equity and borrowed capital and helps companies finance further growth," says Eglė Dovbyšienė, Member of the Management Board and Head of Retail Banking at SEB.

According to E. Dovbyšienė, SEB saw Repsense's potential and the value its product creates for society and organisations. Understanding a fast-changing information environment and the risks forming in it is becoming more important every day.

Repsense builds AI-driven narrative intelligence solutions for media analysis, security and strategic communications. The company's technology is relevant in Lithuania and in international markets alike.

The SEB financing adds to Repsense's ongoing fundraising. In December 2025 the company closed a €2M seed round with Seed Starter ČS, the fund of the Czech bank Česká spořitelna, and the venture capital fund Tensor Ventures. The financing will strengthen the company's financial reserve and speed up its next stage of growth.

"For Repsense, this deal is another mark of recognition alongside the trust of our investors: a bank has confirmed that the company's growth rests on solid financial foundations. Banks naturally have a lower risk appetite than venture capital funds, so before making a decision they examine the business model and the financials far more strictly. This is the second time we have earned a bank's trust – last year the fund of a Czech bank invested in the company. SEB entering the venture debt market is a very good sign for the whole sector: Lithuania's financial market is maturing together with its technology companies," says Liudvikas Andriulis, Repsense co-founder and Head of Growth.

Repsense will put the funds into three areas: growing its analyst team, strengthening sales in foreign markets and further developing its narrative analytics platform. The main technology investment is forecasting capabilities that predict which topics in the information space will grow and how their scale will change.
