Platform update · October 2026

Meet the updated Repsense

Introducing the biggest update to the Repsense platform so far: narrative dominance analysis. The main page now answers one question: who dominates your information environment. The answer is split into five views: where you stand in the market, who holds each channel, which stories are growing, where risks are emerging and whose claims about your market people repeat.

Your day-to-day work on the platform stays the same. You log in as usual, and all your accumulated data, mention feed, analytical views and reports remain where they are. The only change is what you see on the main page. You don’t need to do anything – the update will switch on automatically.

Why we built this update

An organisation’s reputation is shaped by two things: what people experience themselves and what they hear about it. In the past, most people got their news from the evening bulletin and newspaper front pages. Today it increasingly comes from other people: members of Facebook groups, podcast hosts, TikTok and Instagram creators. Each of these channels shows people whatever is written about and shared the most.

That is why it matters not only how much people talk about you, but which story about you is repeated most often.

A company raises its prices. Some write that raw materials have become more expensive, others that the company is greedy. If the first version is repeated more often, your narrative dominates. If the second, someone else’s does.

One version may prevail on news portals and a completely different one in Facebook groups. A single total mention count cannot show this difference. So we rebuilt the platform’s main page to show you your whole information environment at a glance. We hope it becomes a daily tool that helps you spot changes early and make decisions in time.

The new main page: five views, five questions

Every view can be traced back to the individual post.

The demo uses sample data: brands, stories and figures are fictional.

01 · COMPETITION

Where you and your competitors stand in the market

Each bubble is a brand, and its size shows the number of mentions. The further right a bubble sits, the more people its mentions reached. The higher it sits, the more strongly they shaped opinion. Leaders gather in the top right. Its position gives each brand a role: leader, challenger, niche player or spectator.

The Composition tab shows where you rank on four measures: mentions, people reached, impact and effectiveness.

What you gain

See whether you communicate a lot but go unnoticed, and which competitor is gaining on you.

02 · PLATFORMS

Where the conversation happens and who leads each channel

A map of all your channels. A channel’s size shows how many people name it as their main news source, based on population surveys. If you prefer, size can reflect mentions, people reached or effectiveness. Colour shows who is strongest in each channel: you, a competitor, several players at once, or no one.

Often everyone turns out to be competing in the same channel, while another channel with a large audience is left almost empty. The Show hostility switch reveals the channels where brands are fighting each other. Operations shows where you lost ground during the week and where you won it back. Chains shows the routes information takes between channels, and how long it takes.

What you gain

Find a channel with a large audience that no one leads yet, and know whom to brief first so your message reaches everyone.

03 · STORYLINES

Which stories are growing and how they spread

Related posts from all platforms are grouped into stories. One tile is one story, and its size is the number of posts. The tags at the top show how the story behaves: carried by mainstream media or by social networks, faded quickly or spread to other platforms, or showing signs of coordinated amplification.

Hover to see how a story developed day by day. Click for a summary, when it first appeared, how many hours it took to peak, and its key posts. The Emerging tab shows new stories that are still gathering momentum.

What you gain

No more reading hundreds of posts to see which story is growing and whether it needs a response.

04 · THREATS

Where reputational risks are emerging

This view is built to spot emerging risks and harmful content. The orange line shows how the number of negative mentions changes. The red line shows mentions in a harmful context, where your name appears next to extremist, violent or illegal content, even if the post itself is neutral towards you.

The sliders set which mentions count, for example only those from −100% to −70%. Click a peak to see that day’s posts. You can focus on your own brand or look at the whole market.

What you gain

Catch a negative story while it is still small, with time to prepare your response.

05 · NARRATIVE DOMINANCE

Which claims about your market people repeat, and whose they are

Each row is a narrative, and the blocks show each brand’s share of it. Your brand always comes first in every row, so you can see at once where your share is growing and where it is shrinking. The thin bar under each row shows last week’s results.

We define the narratives together with you and assign every collected post to one of them. Click a narrative to see which claims it is made of and in which posts they are repeated.

What you gain

Know which narratives you hold, which ones competitors have taken, and where your voice grew stronger or weaker during the week.

Analysis

Even more accurate sentiment analysis

The system first works out your brand’s role in a sentence: whether it is the subject, whether it is doing something, or whether it is only a comparison, quoted on another topic or mentioned as a location. This shows whether a post works in your brand’s favour, not just the overall tone of the text.

Location

“Fire breaks out next to a shopping centre – people evacuated”

A dramatic event, but the brand is only the location – its reputation is unaffected.

neutral
Idiom

“Prices so low the shelves are being wiped clean”

The words sound alarming, but it is praise for the sale.

positive
Comparison

“You’ll get the same thing cheaper at a competitor”

It sounds helpful, but it sends the shopper elsewhere.

negative

AI adds extra data to every post. Three scores are rated on a ten-point scale, and you can sort and filter the feed by them. You can also filter content by the most common categories, mood, language and products seen in posts.

Alerts

Alerts you can set up yourself

Save the searches and filter combinations you use most and get notified when a new post matches them. You don’t need an alert for every mention: you can choose to be notified only when a mention is negative, appears in a harmful context or falls into a chosen content category. Alerts arrive by email, in Slack or in Microsoft Teams.

Analysis

Visual analysis now works across all sources

Deep analysis recognises what appears in photos and videos: brands, people, setting and mood. It now works across all source types. A mention is found even when your logo is visible in the frame but your name is never written.
